Parola ng Taguig 4
- 24 x 36 cm
Parola ng Taguig IV Sometimes, home is a small light in the distance—the one we keep looking for, however far we have wandered. In Parola ng Taguig IV, the lighthouse of Taguig stands beneath an immense, shifting sky. Around it, colours gather and dissolve, like feelings we carry when we are far from the people and places we love. There is longing in that open space: for a familiar voice, for someone waiting at the door, for the quiet relief of knowing we belong. Yet the little lighthouse holds its place. Through restless skies and moments of calm, it becomes a metaphor for those who stay steadfast when life grows uncertain. They, too, may carry loneliness. They, too, may be searching for their way. Still, they find enough light within themselves to guide someone else. A golden line stretches across the painting like a promise kept across distance. Beneath it, the lighthouse’s reflection suggests that the care we give reaches further than we can see. This is a painting for anyone who has ever missed home—and for anyone who has become that feeling for another person. In its quiet expanse, the lighthouse seems to whisper: Take your time. I’m still here. There is a way back.

The Light We Share
- 36 x 48 undefined
Some lights are meant to guide us. Others are meant to be shared. The Light We Share reflects the quiet transformation that takes place after we have found peace within ourselves. It is a meditation on generosity—not through grand gestures, but through the simple act of offering hope, kindness, and presence to others. Layers of deep blues, luminous whites, and soft earth tones unfold across the canvas, revealing hidden marks and fragments beneath the surface. These traces speak of experiences that have shaped us: moments of uncertainty, healing, and quiet resilience. They are not concealed, but embraced as part of the journey. Resting quietly within the composition is a small red lighthouse. Though easily overlooked against the vastness of the landscape, it becomes the heart of the painting. It reminds us that even the smallest light can reach across great distances, offering direction, comfort, and reassurance to those navigating their own storms. Its reflection upon the water suggests that every act of compassion creates a ripple far beyond what we may ever witness. Created as a companion to The Light We Kept, this work continues the story within the Finding the Calm series. If its predecessor speaks of preserving hope through life’s uncertain seasons, The Light We Share celebrates what follows—the choice to extend that hope beyond ourselves. True light is never diminished by being shared. Instead, it becomes the quiet beginning of someone else’s way home.

Sasagala si Marietta The flowers are ready, the sleeves are fabulous, and Marietta is stepping out! Dressed in a blue Filipiniana adorned with flowing floral patterns, Marietta joins the Flores de Mayo festivities in Taguig with a bouquet of pink blooms and a quietly knowing smile. Is she savouring the scent of a flower, posing for an admirer, or keeping a little neighbourhood secret? That’s for you to decide. Bold outlines and playful, angular shapes give this festive muse her distinctive character. Turquoise, rose pink, and warm golden tones dance across her face, while flowers, a glowing lantern, and a church backdrop bring the celebration to life.
